Think back to when you were just 17 years old… did the thought of entrepreneurship cross your mind? Probably for most of us, it wasn’t on our radar. A lot of us more than likely came from families that lived a “norm” of parents punching the clock for someone else.
But this isn’t the case for 17 year old, Macey – my (Kelly) niece. She’s grown up around me running my online business, her dad working from home and she was bitten by the entrepreneur bug at a young age – starting a YouTube channel several years ago. I love what Macey says:
When I was younger, I thought I’d start out on YouTube, so I made a channel. I created my first video with my best friend. We asked questions about each other, and for each question we got wrong, we drank a spoonful of hot sauce. I continued to upload videos to my channel for about a month, and then stopped because I got bored. Then about a year later, I deleted all of them because I was embarrassed.
That’s a lesson I think we’ve all experienced (publishing something and then later deleting because we weren’t proud of it) at least once 😉
I love that Macey is still interested in working for herself. And I love that there are other young entrepreneurs out there. Macey has pulled together a list of 6 young entrepreneurs that inspire her and created a post with a little blurb about each of them.
I invite you to head on over and read Young Entrepreneurs Who Inspire here.
